A blue heron rises over the vast expanse of the deep blue sea. Tethered by painted drips that join feathers to sky and sky to sea. The outstretched wings translucency and gestural charcoal lines visually connect the moment of lift from the sea to the air. Drenched in an array of blue tones with subtle yellow and ocre marks captures both the essence of this grand bird within the context of its motion upward.
